Frequently asked questions

If your question is not here, write to us and we will answer in person.

What is an alfajor?
A sandwich of two soft biscuits with dulce de leche (a slow-cooked milk caramel) in the middle, often finished with coconut or chocolate. It is Argentina's everyday treat.
How long do they keep?
Each flavour's storage note and shelf life are on its page once confirmed, and the best-before date is stamped on the box. Keep the box closed in a cool, dry place.
Are they suitable for vegetarians?
Check each flavour's page: a flavour is marked vegetarian only once its recipe has been confirmed.
Do you have gluten-free or vegan options?
No. Our biscuits are made with wheat flour in a kitchen that handles wheat, so nothing we sell is gluten free. Dulce de leche is made from milk, so nothing we sell is vegan either.
Can I send a box as a gift?
Yes. Tick the gift option at checkout and add a message; it goes in the box. We never include prices.
Where do you deliver?
Anywhere in the UK by Royal Mail. Highlands and Islands may take a day longer.
Can I cancel or return an order?
Alfajores are perishable food, so the 14-day cancellation right for distance sales does not apply to them: a box cannot be returned for a change of mind. Before we start baking you can cancel for a full refund. If anything arrives damaged or not as described, please tell us as soon as you can, ideally within three days and with a photo, as food does not keep; this does not affect your statutory rights.
Do you supply cafés and events?
Yes. See the wholesale page and send us an enquiry.
