Cookie policy

Cookies are small files stored on your device. The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) require your consent for any cookie that is not strictly necessary. Here is what we use.

Strictly necessary (no consent needed)

These make the site work and cannot be switched off.

  • katu_cart: your basket, signed so it cannot be tampered with. Expires after 30 days.
  • katu_locale: the language you chose. Expires after one year.
  • katu_consent: records your cookie choice so we do not ask again. Expires after 180 days.

Analytics (consent required)

If you accept analytics, PostHog sets identifiers so we can count visits and see which pages are useful. Nothing is loaded until you accept, no personal details are sent, and you can withdraw consent at any time using "Cookie settings" in the footer.

Payment

When you go to pay, Stripe's checkout page sets its own cookies for fraud prevention. These are governed by Stripe's privacy policy.

Managing cookies

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the strictly necessary cookies will stop the basket working.
